What Makes GGJIA Stadium Lights Different

Remote Driver Box

The LED driver is mounted separately from the lighting head to reduce operating temperatures and extend component life.

Because the driver is typically the first component requiring maintenance, the remote design simplifies servicing while improving long-term reliability.

  • Lower driver operating temperature
  • Improved heat dissipation
  • Easier maintenance and replacement
  • Longer overall fixture lifespan

Integrated Laser Pointing Technology

An integrated laser alignment system projects a visible aiming point, allowing installers to accurately position fixtures on tall poles without repeated adjustments.

  • Precise aiming during installation
  • Ideal for high-mast lighting projects
  • Reduces installation time
  • Improves lighting uniformity

Detachable Anti-Glare Sunshade

The removable sunshade helps reduce glare and unwanted light spill while improving visual comfort.

Install or remove the shade depending on project requirements and local dark-sky regulations.

  • Reduces glare
  • Minimizes light trespass
  • Supports dark-sky friendly installations
  • Optional installation flexibility

Multiple Beam Angle Options

Select the optic that best matches your project requirements.

  • 4H × 4V beam for wide-area illumination
  • 3H × 3V beam for long-throw applications
  • Optimized for sports fields and high-mast installations
  • Improves lighting uniformity and efficiency

Built for Harsh Outdoor Environments

Engineered for demanding outdoor applications with a heavy-duty die-cast aluminum housing, corrosion-resistant finish and IP66 weatherproof construction.

  • IP66 dustproof and waterproof
  • Power-coated anti-corrosion finish
  • Heavy-duty steel mounting bracket
  • Operating temperature: −35°C to 55°C
  • Designed for year-round outdoor operation

Stadium & Sports Field Lighting Applications

  • Sports Fields — Football fields, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts and tennis courts.
  • Stadiums & Arenas — Professional, collegiate and community sports facilities.
  • High Mast Lighting — Highway interchanges, transportation hubs and large open public areas.
  • Airports — Aprons, taxiways, aircraft parking areas and perimeter lighting.
  • Seaports — Container terminals, shipping docks, cargo yards and logistics centers.
  • Large Commercial Areas — Industrial yards, distribution centers, parks, public squares and oversized parking facilities.

How Many Stadium Lights Do You Need?

Sports lighting projects must satisfy specific illumination and uniformity requirements established by organizations such as IES, NCAA, FIFA and local authorities. Fixture quantity cannot be determined accurately using lumens alone.

Proper lighting design depends on:

  • Field dimensions
  • Pole height
  • Fixture beam angle
  • Target average footcandles
  • Uniformity ratio requirements
  • Competition level (recreational, competition or broadcast)

GGJIA provides free professional photometric layouts for stadium and sports lighting projects.

Simply provide the following information:

  • Field or site dimensions
  • Sport or application
  • Pole mounting height
  • Target level of play or illumination standard

Our lighting team will prepare a complete photometric report showing:

  • Recommended fixture quantity
  • Fixture locations
  • Aiming angles
  • Predicted footcandle distribution
  • Uniformity calculations

The completed layout can be used to verify lighting performance before purchase and assist with project planning, permitting and installation.

How long do LED stadium lights last?

A: LED stadium flood lights are designed to offer a long lifespan compared to traditional lighting options such as metal halide or high-pressure sodium lights. On average, LED stadium flood lights can last anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 hours. This translates to approximately 6 to 12 years of continuous use.

How much light in an LED Stadium Lights?

A: LED stadium lights start at about 60,000 lumens to replace a 1500 watt metal halide sports lighter and go up to 150,000 lumens on average. lumens is the amount of light from a fixture and differs from the light on the ground, known as footcandles.

What is DLC 5.1?

  • Efficiency: More than 15 lumens per watt. This far exceeds the standard efficiency requirements. This means that DLC V5.1 advanced version is more energy-efficient than the standard version.
  • Color temperature: All lighting products except high ceiling lights for indoor use. The color temperature range is 2200K to 6500K, and the product must have a color temperature consistent with at least one basic, flexible, or extended nominal four-step four-sided color temperature.
  • Uncomfortable glare: Applicable to downlights. The lamp does not meet the classification standard of v5.1 advanced version.
  • Controllability: All lighting products should have a continuous dimming function. Please note that the advanced version classification does not accept stepped dimming.
  • Light efficiency stability: The light efficiency stability value of DLC V5.1 advanced version is not published in the QPL.

How tall are the flood lights in a stadium?

Typically, stadium lights which are corner-mounted on masts will be at least 25m tall but tend to range between 20m and 40m. For a stadium lighting system mounted on or in the roof, the height is partly determined by the dimensions of the stadium itself.

Are LED flood lights expensive to run?

This efficiency results in huge energy savings. Reduced Energy Consumption: LED flood lights consume up to 80% less energy than halogen bulbs, which directly translates to lower electricity bills.

How far apart should flood lights be?

The number of flood lights you need depends on the area you're illuminating. As a rule, space flood lights 20-40 feet apart to avoid dark spots while ensuring complete coverage. Larger areas, like parking lots, may require lights with higher lumen output and narrower beam angles to provide focused illumination.

What color should outdoor flood lights be?

White light is one of the most common outdoor floodlight colors, with a neutral color temperature. This color of light is closer to natural light and can reproduce the true color of objects, making people feel clear and comfortable.
