What replaces 400W metal halide?

This 150W LED produces 22,500 lumens vs a typical 400W metal halide HID producing 30,000 initial lumens (degrading to ~21,000 lumens after 5,000 hours). At 5 years of operation, the LED actually produces more usable light than an aging HID at less than half the wattage. For 400W HID retrofit, this 150W LED is a direct replacement.

Does it work in cold storage / freezer environments?

Yes. Operating temperature range is −22°F to 122°F. The fixture starts and operates without flicker in freezer applications (below 0°F). For cold storage, choose hook or chain mounting for easy access during maintenance.

How is this installed in a permanent commercial application?

The 6-ft 3-prong plug is intended for tool-free testing only. For permanent installation, cut the plug, route the SO-cord through conduit, and connect to a 100-277V branch circuit. The driver accepts any voltage in this range. A licensed electrician should perform permanent installation per NEC Article 410 and local codes.

Can I daisy-chain multiple fixtures from one outlet?

For temporary plug-and-cord installations, the 5-15P plug supports daisy-chaining via outlet adapters or extension cords. For permanent commercial installations, each fixture is on its own branch (or hardwired in series) per the electrical plan. The driver does not have an integrated pass-through outlet.

Is the dimming circuit compatible with all 0-10V controllers?

Installation Steps

Step 1 — Determine Mounting Height and Fixture Spacing

For ceilings between 15 and 22 ft, space fixtures approximately 18–25 ft apart. For project-specific calculations, use our Lighting Calculator.

Step 2 — Install Mounting Hardware

Select the mounting method that best suits the application: hook mounting with chain or aircraft cable, surface mounting, or 3/8" NPT pendant mounting. Hook installation is generally the fastest retrofit solution, while surface mounting provides a cleaner permanent installation.

Step 3 — Test Fixture Operation

Connect the factory-installed 6-ft power cord to a standard 120V outlet to verify operation before final installation. The universal-voltage driver automatically accepts any input voltage from 100V–277V.

Step 4 — Hardwire for Permanent Installation

For permanent installations, remove the plug, route the power cord through approved conduit or junction hardware, and connect to a 100-277V branch circuit in accordance with NEC Article 410. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician to ensure code compliance and preserve warranty coverage.

Step 5 — Connect Optional 0-10V Dimming Controls

To enable dimming, connect the violet (+) and gray (−) low-voltage control leads to a compatible 0-10V dimmer, occupancy sensor or building management system.

These are perfect. The price is excellent I wired my shop for six of them bought four for now was going to add two more later now I decided four is plenty and I have turned down to 60%. Also I would like to say that I don't leave reviews but I felt that I had to on these.

Light great for barn or garage

We added these to our new 40 x 80 barn. We set them on 2 different switches and 4 lit up half the barn with adequate light. They are very reasonably priced for the product itself. We have them hanging form the ceiling and the cord length is plenty long.

I already had a switched outlet in my ceiling so I opted to wire a plug to the end. Otherwise you need to hardwire it in a junction box. Good quality and puts out a ton of light. Good value and being LED you get brightness without consuming a lot of electricity
