UL Certified Lights

Every high bay fixture in this collection is independently tested and listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or its Canadian counterpart cUL. UL listing is the most widely accepted electrical safety mark in North America and is required by the National Electrical Code (NEC), most building inspectors (AHJs) and commercial property insurance carriers. How to Choose a UL Listed High Bay Light

Step 1 — Match wattage to ceiling height

| Ceiling Height | Recommended Wattage | Lumens |
|---|---|---|
| 12–15 ft | 100W | 14,000 lm |
| 15–20 ft | 150W | 21,000 lm |
| 20–25 ft | 200W | 28,000 lm |
| 25–30 ft | 240W | 36,000 lm |
| 30–40 ft | 300W–400W | 45,000–60,000 lm |

Step 2 — Choose UFO or Linear form factor

- UFO high bays distribute light in a 120° circular pattern. Best for open warehouses, gyms and storage rooms where coverage is uniform.
- Linear high bays produce a wider 90° rectangular footprint. Best for aisles, production lines and rack-row environments where you want light along a long axis.

Step 3 — Confirm the mounting type

GGJIA UL listed high bays support hook, ceiling, chain, surface and ⅜" NPT pole mounts. The Adjustable Series and Linear Series both ship with a 6-ft U.S. 3-prong plug for tool-free testing; cut the plug for hardwired installations.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why UL Listing Matters for Commercial Installations

A UL or cUL mark tells your electrician, your building inspector and your insurance carrier that the fixture has been tested to UL 1598 or UL 8750 — the safety standards for luminaires and LED equipment. Without this mark, your installation can fail inspection, void your commercial property insurance, or trigger NEC Article 110.3(B) violations. GGJIA's high bay lights meet UL 1598 (luminaire) and UL 8750 (LED driver) testing, plus IP65 ingress protection for dust and water resistance. Most models are also DLC qualified, meaning they meet both safety and energy-performance standards in a single fixture.

  • UL vs cUL vs ETL — Which One Do You Need?

    - UL (Underwriters Laboratories): Required for installations in the United States. - cUL: The Canadian version of UL listing. Required for installations in Canada. - ETL (Intertek): An alternative safety mark recognized by OSHA and most North American AHJs as equivalent to UL. Many GGJIA fixtures carry both UL and ETL. If you are installing in both the U.S. and Canada (common for distribution-center chains), look for the dual UL/cUL mark on the fixture or the spec sheet.

  • Is a UL listed fixture required by the NEC?

Yes. NEC Article 110.3(B) requires that all installed electrical equipment be listed and labeled by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). UL is the most widely accepted NRTL in the U.S.; ETL and CSA are also recognized. A non-listed fixture can fail inspection and may void commercial property insurance.

  • What is the difference between "UL Listed" and "UL Recognized"?

UL Listed means the complete fixture has been tested as a finished product and is suitable for end-user installation. UL Recognized typically applies to components (like an LED driver inside a larger assembly). For commercial installations, you want the UL Listed mark on the finished luminaire — every fixture in this collection carries that mark.

  • Can I install GGJIA UL high bay lights in damp or wet locations?

Yes. All fixtures in this collection are IP65 rated and UL listed for wet location use, suitable for car washes, food-processing plants, warehouses with washdown procedures and outdoor canopies. For full submersion (IP67) consult support@ggjia-led.com.

  • Are GGJIA high bays compatible with motion sensors and 0-10V dimmers?

Yes. All models in this collection accept 0-10V dimming and accept the GGJIA PIR motion sensor accessory (sold separately). Wattage can be reduced to as low as 10% on the Adjustable Series.

  • What voltage does GGJIA UL high bay support?

Standard fixtures run on 100–277V AC, covering all single-phase and three-phase 208/240/277V commercial circuits. A 277–480V high-voltage version is available for industrial sites; contact sales@ggjia-led.com for the high-voltage variant.

  • How long is the warranty on UL listed GGJIA fixtures?

Five years from date of purchase, covering full replacement on driver, housing and LED chip failures under normal installation. The warranty is honored from our Spokane, WA fulfillment center with free return shipping inside the continental U.S.

  • Does GGJIA provide a photometric layout for my facility?

Yes, free for projects of 10 fixtures or more. Email support@ggjia-led.com with your floor plan dimensions, ceiling height and target footcandle level. Our lighting designers return a DIALux or AGi32 simulation within 2 business days.
