G GJIA Indoor Lighting

GGJIA's indoor LED lighting collection covers every fixture engineered for non-residential interior spaces — warehouses, factories, gymnasiums, retail floors, offices, cold storage rooms, food-processing plants and other commercial interiors. All fixtures meet U.S. and Canadian electrical safety standards (UL or cUL listed), most are DLC qualified for utility rebates, and every commercial fixture carries a 5-year full replacement warranty backed by our Spokane, WA support team.

What Counts as "Indoor" Commercial Lighting?

Indoor commercial fixtures are designed around three constraints that differ from outdoor fixtures:

1. Ceiling-mount or surface-mount geometry — light needs to fall in a uniform pattern across a defined room footprint, with predictable spacing relative to ceiling height. Outdoor fixtures by contrast push light long distances across open areas.

2. Glare and visual comfort matter more — workers, students or customers spend hours under these fixtures, so beam angle, CCT consistency and flicker control are weighted heavily.

3. Climate is controlled, but environments still vary — most indoor commercial spaces are HVAC-conditioned, but specialty interiors (cold storage, food-processing washdown areas, paint booths) impose their own IP, NSF or hazardous-location requirements.

The fixtures in this collection cover all three needs across the most common indoor applications.

How to Choose the Right Indoor LED Fixture by Ceiling Height

Mounting height is the single biggest factor when selecting an indoor LED fixture. Choosing the wrong wattage for your ceiling height can lead to excessive energy consumption, poor lighting performance, or workplace safety concerns. Use the guide below to match fixture type and light output to your installation height.

Ceiling Height Recommended Fixture Wattage Lumen Output
Under 12 ft Flat Panel, Shop Light, Vapor Tight 30W–60W 4,000–8,700 lm
12–15 ft UFO High Bay, Linear High Bay 100W 14,000 lm
15–20 ft UFO High Bay, Linear High Bay 150W 21,000 lm
20–25 ft UFO High Bay 200W 28,000 lm
25–30 ft UFO High Bay, Linear High Bay 240W–300W 36,000–45,000 lm
30–40 ft UFO High Bay 400W 60,000 lm

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I use outdoor LED lights indoors?

Yes, in most cases — outdoor-rated fixtures are over-engineered for indoor environments. However, the inverse is not true: indoor-rated fixtures lack IP-sealing and UV-resistant components and will fail quickly if installed outdoors. Outdoor fixtures may also have wider beam angles than ideal for indoor mounting heights, causing glare.

  • What's the difference between IP65 and IP54 for indoor fixtures?

IP65 means the fixture is dust-tight and protected against water jets — required for washdown environments, cold storage and dust-heavy production. IP54 means dust-protected (not dust-tight) and splash-resistant. For most dry, climate-controlled indoor spaces, IP54 is sufficient and the fixture is typically cheaper. For warehouses with forklift dust, food-processing washdown or any wet cleaning, choose IP65.

  • What CCT (color temperature) is best for indoor commercial lighting?

3000K (warm white): Retail (apparel, hospitality), creates "inviting" ambiance 4000K (neutral white): Office, classroom, healthcare general areas — balanced and alert 5000K (daylight): Warehouse, manufacturing, gym, auto shop — maximum visual acuity, looks like noon daylight 6500K (cool daylight): Rarely used commercially; can feel harsh GGJIA offers selectable CCT (3000K/4000K/5000K) on most flat panels and many high bays, so you can adjust on-site.

  • Do indoor LED fixtures need a vapor barrier?

Only for fixtures penetrating an insulated ceiling assembly (e.g., recessed lights in a conditioned warehouse ceiling that separates HVAC zones). Surface-mount and pendant fixtures in interior spaces typically don't require a vapor barrier. Vapor-tight LED fixtures used in cold storage are self-sealed and don't require additional barrier construction.

  • Can I retrofit fluorescent fixtures with LED?

Yes, two approaches: (1) replace the entire fixture with a new LED fixture sized to your space — recommended for end-of-life T8/T12 fluorescents and HID high bays, (2) install LED tube retrofits inside existing fluorescent housings — works for fixtures in good condition, but the housings still age and ballasts may need bypassing. For warehouses with HID metal halide or HPS, full fixture replacement with LED high bay typically pays back in 18–36 months including utility rebates.

  • Do indoor LED fixtures need ventilation?

No — unlike incandescent or HID fixtures, LED fixtures dissipate heat primarily through the housing fins. Adequate clearance from insulation (typically 3" minimum) is recommended, but they do not require active ventilation. GGJIA fixtures are rated to operate continuously at ambient temperatures up to 122°F.

  • Are these fixtures compatible with smart building / BMS controls?

All GGJIA fixtures accept 0–10V analog dimming, which is the most widely supported protocol in commercial building management systems. For DALI or wireless (Bluetooth, Zigbee) control, contact sales@ggjia-led.com to discuss compatible driver options for project orders.
